Legacy Society

The Legacy Society is an honorary society that recognizes individuals who have generously included Senior Friendship Centers in their estate plans confidentially and in writing. Some have done so through a will, others through a trust or other planned gift.

Senior Friendship Centers for Today & Tomorrow
If you have left a planned gift to Senior Friendship Centers, please contact the Office of Corporate & Foundation Development (941) 556-3233 and we'll be sure to add your name to the growing list of generous Legacy Society members. There is no minimum amount required for membership to the Legacy Society.

When you notify Senior Friendship Centers of your intent to include Senior Friendship Centers in your will, you become eligible to become a member of the Legacy Society.

Ways to create a Legacy:
  1. Prepare a will. Many people die without a will and it's a critical component of any financial plan. A will allows you to control your assets. Valuable belongings and resources can be greatly reduced by taxes or misdirected if a person does not have a will.
  2. Leave a gift in your will for Senior Friendship Centers. Before making any charitable gift, consult with your financial and legal advisors for help in creating a charitable giving plan appropriate for you. If you wish to include Senior Friendship Centers in your will or trust, simply add this language:

"I hereby give and bequeath (amount of money or percentage) to Senior Friendship Centers Foundation having a Federal Tax ID of EI#65-0364819, located in Sarasota, Florida for its general purposes."
  1. Consider various assets for your gift. IRAs, savings bonds, stocks, CDs, real estate, vehicles, art and jewelry. This allows you to leave your heirs other assets that carry far less tax liability.
  2. Name Senior Friendship Centers as the beneficiary of a charitable remainder annuity trust. Boost your rate of return, receive fixed income and minimize capital gains tax.
  3. Name Senior Friendship Centers as the beneficiary of a life insurance contract. Receive an immediate charitable deduction and deduct all future premiums.
  4. Encourage family and friends to leave deferred gifts to Senior Friendship Centers in their wills.

Imagine the positive impact on our community if everyone made a donation!

Before implementing any significant financial planning strategy, you should always consult with a professional. Senior Friendship Centers has assembled a group of experienced attorneys, accountants, bankers and financial planners who are available to assist with gift planning upon your request.
