Each year, the Friendship Volunteer Center refers more than 4,500 volunteers to 455 not-for-profit organizations in Sarasota County providing the equivalent of $10 million in services. In turn, they contribute directly to the lives of many more people, making our community a stronger community.
The Friendship Volunteer Center is a gateway to many volunteer opportunities with human services agencies, in educational settings, with arts organizations and with faith-based groups, providing everything from desperately needed disaster relief to daily administrative support. Programs range from high school teens volunteering to achieve Bright Futures Scholarship community service requirements, to adults 55+ in RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program).

| Individuals and groups of various ages contribute a significant number of hours to volunteer time, often worked around job and family responsibilities, helping them to keep in touch with the needs of the community. |
